5 Reasons Why Bucks Beat Raptors in 2020

Aw, man. The finals are happening without the Bucks, with the Raptors having a chance to beat the dastardly Warriors too. That could have been us. But worry not, because it will be in 2020. After the Bucks blow past the first two rounds again, most likely Toronto will be waiting. After considering five key reasons the Bucks will be more prepared next season, the Canadian visa office may reconsider those work-permits next season.

5. Determination

Many are happy for Toronto because it took 24 years to make the finals. Oh, boo hoo! Allow us to play a song on Summerfest’s smallest stage. The Bucks have been waiting 45 years to make the final round. And our team has been working extremely hard to change that.

And folks, those aren’t even our three best players. The Bucks may reshape the lineup this offseason, but only to sand away the rough spots.

4. Bucks didn’t win this year

Wait, back up. The fact the Bucks lost helps their cause next season? Absolutely. Giannis even said as much Sunday.

No Giannis, noooooo! Wouldn’t you rather win every game? But science supports him: humans learn better after failing a task. After all, don’t drivers off with a speeding warning go, “phew!” and back to 80? People don’t adjust after winning. Toronto had a good time after game six, alright. Giannis didn’t sleep for two days. And in his rumination, he’ll find his energy reserve.

3. Home Court

Boy, isn’t Toronto glad they had Kawhi Leonard on that load management plan? They need to win all home games and one in Milwaukee. No problem: note how loud their crowd was late in a Warriors run!

Not! Consider only 28 of 133 road teams have won a game seven. So deer aren’t the most vicious animals? They will easily eat the crickets that come out when the Raptors falter.

2. Better Fans

This argument is a more sophisticated point than three. It’s quite tiring to hear how Toronto is such a vibrant, multicultural city. They have great car-dealers and rappers. Oh, what a great basketball town. Cue the Charlie Brown adults: “wah wah, wah wah wah wah.” Here in Milwaukee, we know what a real sports town is. Brewer fans tailgate for hours, while strangely not a word’s said about the Blue Jays. Milwaukee fans adore the hallowed Packers. Toronto has, uh, Canadian football? Even the Admirals have a small but very loyal following, while the Maple Leafs haven’t won since 1967. Not sorry, Canada: we have better music, automobiles, and sports fans.

1. Loyalty

Of course, this discussion could soon be moot. If Leonard bails to LA, Toronto won’t contend. But as for the real MVP, Giannis? He has an intense loyalty to the city that bet its future on a little-known Greek star. Consider his walking out of the postseason interview.

He’s not a sore loser. The ESPN journalist had just written an article breathlessly speculating on his “next step” after his contract expires. Excuse us? He’ll take a step next spring, all right. Another Euroleap to the 2020 finals, while the Raptors bandwagoners remember how long summer of heartbreak is.
