UPDATE (9/1/17): According to Kings insider James Ham, Randolph’s case will continue through Sept. 14 and no plea has been made.

Sacramento Kings’ power forward Zach Randolph has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to TMZ.

Randolph was originally arrested on a felony charge for possession with the intent to sell, on August 9. Prosecutors have reduced the charges to misdemeanor possession of more than one ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

If convicted, Randolph could face up to one year in jail, however, this is his first arrest and he isn’t likely to serve any time.

Randolph signed a two-year $24 million contract with the Kings on July 10. He was coming off a season with the Memphis Grizzlies that saw him average 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 73 games.

The Lead will update this story as it develops.
