Golden State Warriors F Draymond Green has been fined $25,000 for criticizing officials after receiving a technical foul on Saturday afternoon versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to the Warriors star, referees are making their calls personal against the players. He did not hold back in his comments against the referees.

“It’s bad,” Green said. “It’s horrible. It’s really bad. I don’t know why it is. But I think it’s ridiculous. It’s ruining the game. … It should be one of, if not the main priority, to be solved. It definitely should.”

Green received the technical Saturday when he approached referee Tyler Ford to plead his case that Montrezl Harrell fouled him when the Clippers forward blocked his dunk attempt.

Green also offered a solution to fix this problem: A purge of the current NBA officials.

“They can get a new crop [of officials], a whole new crop,” Green said. “Too many personal things going on. Too much me against you. It just don’t work that way.”

While Draymond’s suggestion of new referees will most likely not go into effect, the Warriors forward might have a point about referees making it personal against certain players. Green leads the league with 11 technical fouls on the season. While he may have deserved a few, some of the whistles have been quick against Draymond, given his reputation.

Green will need to make do with the current officials, however, as he is only five technical fouls away from facing a one-game suspension.
