KAT, Knicks Dominate the Bucks

The New York Knicks took down the Milwaukee Bucks in brutal fashion Friday night, with a final score of 116-94.

The 2-6 Milwaukee Bucks traveled to the world’s most famous arena on Friday night to take on the Knicks, who were on a two-game losing streak.

The Knicks’ recent struggles have largely been attributed to their poor interior defense. The absence of Mitchell Robinson & Precious Achiuwa has done a number on the Knicks’ ability to hold down the paint. With Giannis Antetokounmpo in town, Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks knew they would have their hands full, despite the Bucks’ record.

“The Big Bodega”

First-year Knick Karl Anthony Towns shined early and often tonight, scoring 27 of his 32 points in the first half, as the Knicks hopped out to a 66-47 lead at the half. His half was highlighted with a massive slam over Bucks center Brook Lopez, bringing MSG to its feet in eruption.

The Knicks jumped out to a lead fast and never looked back against a lifeless Bucks squad. This game brought the Knicks back to .500, bringing their record to 4-4.

New Addition’s Impact

Last season, Jalen Brunson took off as a bona fide star in the NBA.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, if he had an off night, so did the team. This year is different. Brunson was held to only 15 points last night, his lowest-scoring affair of the season.

This season, a new page has turned for the Knicks. With the addition of Mikal Bridges and KAT this offseason, the Knicks bolstered their scoring production, taking some pressure off their star point guard. Mix in elite 3 & D guy OG Anunoby and Swiss-army knife Josh Hart into the starting five, and the Knicks have had all their starters score double digits for the seventh straight game, a franchise record. Josh Hart almost had a triple-double, with 11 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

This Knicks’ team can volume scoring production from a number of players on this roster, regardless of how many minutes they are getting. Rooke Tyler Kolek, selected with the 34th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, put up 8 points in 16 minutes of play. “He’s got a great feel for the game and he’s a really hard worker,” said Coach Thibs about Kolek postgame tonight.

The Knicks were able to dominate tonight, getting the job done against a massively underperforming Bucks squad. The Knicks’ next game will be a rival game against the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks defeated the Pacers at MSG back on October 25th with a final score of 123-98.
